Bad Neighbour Returns to The FCC
Nine-member Latin rock ensemble from Saigon plays the FCC Phnom Penh one night only July 5.

On the heals of their successful Cambodia debut March 22, the Saigon-based Latin-rock ensemble Bad Neighbour are back for another live performance at the FCC Phnom Penh on July 5.

Lead by Argentinean guitarist Claudio Duek on vocals, Bad Neighbour are veterans of Vietnam's vibrant live music scene. The band is a staple at hotspots such as Saigon Saigon, the Underground, Manna, Vasco's and the Caravelle.

"We used to play rock," Duek says. "By my South American origin pushed me slowly back to Latin Rock." In addition to Duek's vocals, Bad Neighbour brings a diverse lineup of global talent; there's a rapper from Ghana, a vocalist from Spain, a drummer from the U.K. and four musicians from Vietnam.

"We have our own versions [of] different incredible groups like Carlos Vives from Columbia, Mana from Mexico, Santana, Juanes, Shakira," says Duek of the band's music. "We play some Latin classic songs, too, arranged to rock. No one song is the original version 100 percent."

The show starts at 9 p.m. at the FCC Phnom Penh on Sisowath Quay.
